Yin and Tea: Steep into Stillness

For centuries, tea ceremonies have been more than just a practice of drinking tea—they have been rituals of mindfulness, presence, and connection. Across cultures, from the Zen monasteries of Japan to the ancient tea houses of China, tea has served as a bridge between the physical and the spiritual, a means to cultivate awareness and embrace stillness.

Yin and Tea is a modern ceremonial experience that honors these traditions, weaving together the sacred art of tea, guided breathwork, and the deeply meditative practice of Yin Yoga. Set within a carefully curated space of calm, this two-hour journey invites you to step away from the noise of daily life and immerse yourself in profound stillness and surrender.

The Flow of the Evening

☯️ Opening Meditation – We begin by arriving fully into the space, dropping into presence through guided meditation, preparing the mind and body for the ceremony ahead.

🍵 Partnered Tea Ceremony – Rooted in ancient traditions, this sacred ritual invites you to share tea in mindful connection with another. Here, tea becomes more than a beverage—it is a meditation, a moment of reverence, and an invitation to engage all the senses.

🌬 Connected Breathwork – As the tea steeps, we surrender into breath. Through guided breathwork, the body shifts into stillness, calming the nervous system and deepening awareness, allowing the mind to open in preparation for the practice ahead.

🌿 Sacred Lotus Tea: A Psychoactive Elixir for Stillness – This ceremony features a specially formulated psychoactive brew infused with the sacred lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera), a plant revered for centuries in Eastern medicine and spiritual traditions. The lotus, a symbol of enlightenment, was used in Ancient Egypt and Buddhist practices to induce states of tranquility, enhance meditation, and invite deep introspection. Its gentle yet profound properties work synergistically to quiet the mind, open the heart, and prepare the body for the ultimate surrender into stillness.

🧘‍♀️ A Journey Through Yin Yoga (90 minutes) – The body, now open and receptive, is guided into a long-form Yin Yoga session designed to access deep connective tissues, release tension, and create space for profound relaxation. Unlike more dynamic yoga practices, Yin is slow, meditative, and deeply introspective, allowing for extended holds that encourage the body to yield fully.

🌑 Closing Shavasana: A Surrender into Deep Rest – As the practice comes to completion, we transition into an extended Shavasana, allowing the tea, breath, and movement to integrate fully. This final moment of deep stillness is where the magic happens—where the mind softens, the body releases, and the soul rests in quiet presence.
